A festive mood overwhelmed the seminary atmosphere in Tagaytay as it held the annual fiesta in honor of Señor Sto. Niño de Cebu last January 26, 2008. The feast also marked the 43rd foundation anniversary of the MSP.

Aspiring on the theme "Born in Asia, Missioned to the World," the celebration was highlighted with a mass presided by Fr Socrates Mesiona, MSP, the MSP Father Moderator and rector of the seminary at 10:30 in the morning. MSP priests from the Central House, Parish of our Lady of the Abandoned, Tarlac and Cebu communities also came. After the mass, a traditional procession of the image of the Sto. Niño followed. It was led by trained kids doing the sinulog dance. A sumptuous banquet awaited those who joined in the celebration. The whole day activity was completed with a short program where guests were entertained by the production numbers of the seminarians.

Many seminary benefactors and guests came to join in the celebration. Furthermore, members of the Fil-Mission Auxiliary Association (FMAA) also came all the way from their respective units in Tarlac, Batangas and Mandaluyong.

This festive annual celebration signified the thanksgiving to God for the Society’s growth through the 43 years of existence. This was the time of flashing back Society’s history and reinvigorating it with its ideals and inspiration since it was established. Moreover, this celebration is a living reminder of the MSP’s Filipino identity as it continually serves as the missionary arm of the Catholic Church of the Philippines.
