A RECOLLECTION DURING THESE TROUBLED TIMES

The MSP priests assigned in Luzon area got together for a recollection on March 3, 2008 which was held at the Oasis of Prayer in Lalaan, Cavite. Those who attended were priests from the communities in MSP Seminary (Tagaytay), POLA (Mandaluyong), Central House (Makati) and Tarlac.

The Philippine District Moderator (Fr Carmelo Horlador) invited Fr Joe Aripio, SSP to be the facilitator during that day of prayer. Fr Aripio is a formator of the St Paul Seminary in Lalaan. The talk of Fr Aripio was appropriate and timely as he helped us think and reflect what could be the priests’ response to the present political crisis that the country faces.

An hour was also spent for a short discussion on some concerns of the Philippine District. The day’s activities concluded with a celebration of the Holy Eucharist, the main presider was Fr Doods Bugas. The sharing within the mass was fruitful. About five priests shared their varied thoughts and reflections vis-à-vis the crisis. Somehow, it has helped others in their continual discernment.
