MSP CELEBRATES ITS 48TH ANNIVERSARY

The Mission Society of the Philippines celebrates its annual feast day last January 26, 2013 at the MSP Seminary in Tagaytay City. The said celebration was in honor of the Sto Nino, the main patron of the MSP.

It was also an occasion to launch the triennial celebration of the golden jubilee of the MSP which was established in 1965. The theme for this year’s celebration is “Faith and Mission”. There was a program prepared by the seminary community. At 9:30am, the seminarians sang some “mission songs” composed by MSP priests. The POLA choir also rendered one song. Afterward, Fr Patrick Casino gave a talk on the choice theme.

At 11:00am, there followed the celebration of the Holy Eucharist. The main celebrant was Fr Alfie Africa, the MSP Father Moderator. Fr Africa explained the significance of the celebration in relation to the golden jubilee of the MSP by 2015. After the mass, the congregation witnessed the ceremonial release of fifty golden balloons in the air.
