MSP FAMILY DAY 2016

Viva Pit Señor Santo Niño! This was the loud praise which echoed in the seminary walls when the MSP clergy and their lay mission partners and benefactors gathered at Tagaytay City in celebration of the family day on the occasion of the feast day of the Child Jesus last January 23, 2016. It was also a day of thanksgiving to God for the gift of vocation to mission and the 25^th ordination anniversary to the priesthood of Fr. Eladio B. Oliver, MSP, Fr. Eliseo M. Napiere, MSP, Fr. Glenn Giovanni B. Jaron, MSP and  Fr. REstituto O. Galang, MSP. 

“The Santo Niño teaches us to be humble and dependent to God…without God we cannot do anything.” These were the deeply moving words of Fr. Loloy in his homily. He asserted that the feast in honor of the Child Jesus reminds the people to maintain holy innocence. Fr. Loloy recalled that such virtue brims over in their hearts as missionary priests and enables them to hurdle throughout the years of being in the mission frontlines. He likewise opined that the privilege of being part of the mission of the Lord allows the people to be deeply rooted in their faith.  Furthermore he aptly underscored the importance of having lay partners in the mission, people whose inextinguishable prayers, moral and material supports manifest God’s providence concretely. He added that such gratuitousness of God took away his fears before as a young priest.

Before the celebration ended, Rev. Fr. Eladio Oliver, the Father Moderator of the Mission Society of the Philippines, announced the new mission assignments of MSP missionaries. In his brief yet compelling words the Father Moderator reminded all the mission partners to be generous in praying for more Filipino missionaries.

After the Eucharistic celebration, a hearty lunch was enjoyed by everyone. This was followed by a short program which showcased the dancing talents of seminarians. The occasion was concluded by the blessing given by Rev. Fr. Dong Mercairda, MSP,  the seminary Spiritual Director.
