FIL-MISSION SUNDAY CELEBRATION IN SEOUL

THE HWEHWADONG Filipino Catholic Community in Seoul set the whole month of July as Filipino Mission Month.  During Sunday masses, mission talks were conducted by the MSP priests and seminarians with the communities.

Then, during the Fil-Mission Sunday, last July 27, Frs. Alvin Parantar and Jun Tacaisan celebrated the mass at the Hwehwadong Church, which is usually filled with more than a thousand people on Sundays.

In his homily, Fr. Alvin challenged the OFWs to take on their baptismal duty to be missionaries by giving witness to the Gospel through their lives.  The OFWs share with the world not only their skills and expertise at work but also their faith which is a treasure of great value and a priceless pearl.  He also appealed to them to pray and support the MSP missionaries who are sent by the Philippine Church to other countries to share the gift of faith on behalf of the Filipino faithful.

Before the Mass started an MSP video clip was shown to the community.  After the mass, Frt. Fredy Permentilla, together with FMAA members, presented an interpretative dance which received applause from the people. For Filipinos, a celebration is not complete without food. The FMAA members treated the MSPs to a Chinese restaurant, after all the activities were done.
