FR CED'S DREAM MISSION SEALED

LAST THURSDAY (July 31), Most Rev Joseph Lee, SJ, DD, Bishop of the Diocese of Uijeongbu, signed the contract that makes Fr Cedric Alimbuyong, MSP an officially recognized missionary to the diocese.  Fr Cedric arrived in Korea on May 27, 2008.  Working in Korea as a missionary, as everyone in the community knows, is a dream come true for him.  Now that his contract with the diocese is already signed --- his dream is sealed.

The Diocese of Uijeongbu in Korea is just four years old as a diocese.  Its ministry to the different migrant communities is still evolving and developing.  With the very minimal logistical support from the diocese, Fr. Cedric needs to encourage his small communities of OFWs to be more generous and self-reliant in order to sustain their programs.  Hopefully, with the support of the local MSP community, Fr Cedric’s missionary seal for Korea may result to a more fruitful service to the OFWs.  (The MSPs in Korea are present in two dioceses, namely: the Archdiocese of Seoul and the Diocese of Uijeongbu.)
