THE MSP GENERAL COUNCIL MEETS THE APOSTOLIC NUNCIO

The MSP Father Moderator, together with the three General Council members, met the Apostolic Nuncio in the Philippines, His Excellency, Most Rev Edward Joseph Adams, DD, last March 23, 2009, 10:00 am, at the Nunciature in Manila.

Most Rev Adams was glad to meet Fr Alfredo Africa, Jr. (the MSP Father Moderator), Fr Manuel Jadraque, Jr., Fr Patricio Casino, and Fr Eladio Oliver. The fourth General Council member, Fr Leonilo Pacuribot, is still in Thailand, so, he was unable to come for the scheduled audience.

The meeting was more of “getting-to-know-each-other” thing. The Nuncio was happy to know about the MSP and its mission. He expressed his strong admiration towards the missionaries, for he particularly witnessed their contributions to the African Church. He is hoping that the MSP would soon reach the shores of Africa, like in Zimbabwe. He was once stationed in that African country and he sees the need of sending missionaries to that country.

The fruitful meeting lasted an hour.
