NewsMSP-JPIC OFFICE TREATS A GIFT-GIVING PARTY TO ITS SCHOLARS
The five scholars of the Mission Society of the Philippines – Justice, Peace, and Integration of Creation (MSP-JPIC) and their respective families were treated to a simple gift-giving party last December 2007 at the Mother Teresa Room of the Parish of Our Lady of the Abandoned (POLA). Fr Alfonso Dujali MSP, the MSP-JPIC Director, led the Christmas party, along with Sis. Nene Legaspi and Sis. Cora Texon, officers of the JPIC team.
After the attendees shared pleasantries and enjoyed the food, each scholar rendered a song, recited a poem, or performed a dance number. Then, Fr Dujali and some parish volunteers distributed to the scholars some bags containing school supplies, clothes and toiletries. On the other hand, the parents were given grocery bags of rice, canned goods as well as used clothes and accessories. They went home with high spirits and smiling faces as they expressed their gratitude to their benefactors. It is interesting to note that a major benefactor of the MSP-JPIC scholars is a Korean lady by the name of Michaela. This generous donor keeps herself constantly updated about her five scholars. Fr Soc Mesiona, the MSP Father Moderator, and Cora Texon regularly apprise her through e-mail on the scholars’ situation and material needs. If this Korean lady is genuinely concerned about our needy Filipino children, you, too, can help the less privileged children live a more decent life.
